28 September 2026 at 7:30pm - Quaker Meeting House, Norwich, NR2 1EW. Dr Ian Bedford will talk about the good and bad garden bugs that we often find in our gardens and what, if anything, we should do about them. Should we control them or should we look after them? What do we do when foreign pests such as the Spanish slug invade our gardens?

Starting out as an Amateur Entomologist, studying and conserving butterflies on the South Downs, Ian Bedford went on to pursue a professional career as an entomologist. For over 42 years he undertook plant science research at the John Innes Centre, where he became Head of the Entomology Department. Retiring from life as a Research Entomologist, he now continues with his love of entomology through a wide range of public engagement activities.
