2 March 2026 at 7:30pm - online Zoom talk.  'Two people, a field and a passion for perennial vegetables'. Mandy Barber, artist and gardener talks to us about growing Incredible Vegetables at their site in Ashburton Devon. 

Incredible Vegetables is an experimental vegetable growing project and research space set up and managed by Mandy Barber and Julien Skinner. It is dedicated to useful perennial edibles and future food crops. The polyculture space includes a biodiverse mixture of perennials, self sowing annuals and plants for pollinators. 

They now have a second site at Baddaford Farm where they raise nursery plants and produce their seeds as part of the Baddaford Farm Collective.

The research they undertake is absolutely essential. Mixed plantings of perennial crops and woody shrubs not only safeguard and enrich soil ecosystems, but help to draw down and store carbon from the atmosphere, a vital function to help combat climate change.
